The event is part of the Presidential Office of Ukraine’s “Cinema for Victory” program. Before the screening, there will be a meeting with the film’s author.
Set in the 14th century Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia, the story follows an Anglo-Saxon knight and his son, betrayed by a local boyar. The surviving boy is raised by a blacksmith and grows up to bravely defend his native land, its people, and traditions.
12 active servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 370 actors took part, including well-known Ukrainian cultural figures. The film was shot entirely on location in the Carpathians: Tustan Fortress, Olesko Castle, Nahuyevychi, Morshyn, and along the Stryi and Opir rivers.
The film is part of the “Legends of the Carpathians” project, aimed at preserving Ukraine’s cultural and historical heritage.
